Kicking Bird Inc began with four friends who hunted together and were determined to find a better turkey call. When that did not happen, we made our own. Our Box calls became so successful that our other hunting friends kept asking for one. So, we formed Kicking Bird Game Calls and Hunting Products Inc. in 1995.
The first 200 calls were signed, making them all collectable items.
Our Master box call is unique because all the box paddles have a slate insert molded into each box paddle lid. Each call is hand tuned and signed by the builder. These calls are made from Wild Cherry wood, Black Walnut and American Chestnut.
The Kicking Bird signed and numbered American Chestnut set of a Master box call and matching numbered American Chestnut Push Button sets are very collectable along with one of the Original Two Hundred calls.
In 1999, we introduced a unique combination call, the Combo. Since each call has a piece of slate in the paddle, Kicking Bird has opened the top of the paddle in an oval shape so the slate is exposed on the top of the paddle. Now you have a Combo call and a Box call. A double striker is included with the Combo so you can use the top of the paddle lid to do ever so soft, purrs, clucks and kee - kee's. The Combo is a really unique call and are all made from Wild Cherry wood, Black Walnut and American Chestnut.
Tim and Howard's calls are custom made from a solid piece of wood and each call is hand tuned by the builder of the call. Each call is numbered and the tuning date is inscribed in the call.
