Our Kicking Bird Master walnut box call is made from the finest black walnut butt logs from the hard wood forests of central Pennsylvania. Black walnut that is so dense that with the craftsmen at Kicking Bird will bring out the deep rich tones that only black walnut will produce. This wood is some of the most prized wood in the world. Our fine craftsmen hand tune each box call to perfection, to produce some of the deepest turkey calls made today....
The walnut box produces a deeper, a higher pitched call, more raspy cutts, and a KEE KEE that will set the woods afire in the fall. Our box call makes a great Gobbler "POP" that can bring in those wily, old long beards in the fall. Patience is the key to wait out that old fall gobbler. But, the Kicking Bird box call Pop will do the trick. Also since we use the finest black walnut butt logs we have some unique grain wood that when finished with our "Secret" finish mix produces a hardwood call that is also exceptional in the way it looks.
Our black walnut box is one long-range boss, on a windy day our box call will carry your turkey notes to the furthest listening gobbler. The slate, which is inlayed in the paddle of all our box calls, comes from a slate mine in eastern Pennsylvania. It can only be mined in the summer time and is the finest slate in the world. It is with this slate drawn across the fine walnut call edges that produce "turkey talk" that will excited the old gobble in the spring and the jakes and jenny hens in the fall to come running into your Kicking Bird Box call.
